Senior Technical Performance Analyst (zSystem) (W2 Only)

We are seeking a Senior Technical Performance Analyst with strong expertise in IBM z/OS Parallel Sysplex environments, system performance engineering, capacity planning, and infrastructure tuning. The ideal candidate must possess hands-on experience with SMF/RMF analysis, WLM policy behavior, subsystem performance monitoring, and large-scale enterprise mainframe environments.

This role requires deep technical troubleshooting skills, analytical capabilities, and the ability to provide performance optimization recommendations for mission-critical z Systems infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end performance engineering, capacity planning, and system tuning for IBM z/OS environments
• Analyze SMF/RMF data and monitor system health, utilization, and performance trends
• Develop and maintain performance reporting using MXG, SAS, and Splunk
• Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues across z/OS, zLinux, LPARs, Coupling Facility, and subsystem environments
• Provide recommendations to improve infrastructure performance, efficiency, and system stability
• Support incident resolution and root cause analysis for complex performance issues
• Work with TSO/ISPF, JCL, and batch jobstreams within enterprise mainframe environments
• Participate in 24x7 on-call support rotation
• Develop POCs for new technologies and support performance engineering initiatives
• Create technical documentation and operational procedures for support teams
• Utilize AI tools and M365 Copilot to improve operational efficiency and reporting

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience with:
  • SMF/RMF record analysis
  • SAS programming and statistical analysis
  • MXG and Splunk reporting
  • IBM z/OS and Parallel Sysplex environments
  • WLM policies, LPAR weights, and capping
  • TSO/ISPF and JCL
• Experience troubleshooting enterprise mainframe performance issues
• Knowledge of Coupling Facility performance and subsystem interactions
• Experience supporting zOS and/or zLinux environments
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent practical experience
• Experience with enterprise-scale performance engineering environments
• Familiarity with capacity forecasting and infrastructure optimization
• Ability to work in high-pressure production support environments
