Summary

Role: DSE/Cassandra DBA & DataStax Developer
Location: Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin (5 Days a Week Onsite)
Type: C2H

Overall Experience: 10+ Years

Required Skills & Experience:

7+ years Cassandra DBA experience, preferably with DataStax Enterprise (DSE)
DSE development experience including schema design, CQL optimization, and application performance tuning

Core DBA Responsibilities:

DSE Platform Health Checks, capacity planning, and cluster tuning
DSE Core daily operations, patches, upgrades, and version migrations
Automation of DBA tasks using Ansible playbooks and scripting
Creation/maintenance of DSE Runbooks for operational consistency
Production timeout investigation and root cause analysis
Evaluate options for workload reduction and performance optimization
DSE Search/Solr integration and Storage-Attached Indexing (SAI) implementation

Core Developer Responsibilities:

Design/optimize DSE data models, tables, and partition keys using CQL
Develop/tune CQL queries and applications using DataStax drivers
Build scalable distributed data architectures and schema evolution
Code/test scripts for data cleanup, repairs, and synchronization
Collaborate with development teams on query optimization and integration

Technical Skills:

Strong Shell scripting (Bash/Python) for automation
Dashboard creation (Grafana, Prometheus, DSE OpsCenter)
Experience with Ansible for infrastructure automation
Excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skills

Soft Skills:

Strong communication and documentation abilities
Cross-functional collaboration with development and operations teams
