Position: Sr Java Developer
Location: Oaks, PA (Hybrid)
Duration: Long Term Contract
Notes: candidate should have experience with Archiving and Purging and very good SQL skills apart from Java.
Job Description:
This position requires a foundation of software development knowledge, and the ability to work in an Agile team environment. You should be adaptable, possess a wide range of technical skills, and demonstrate the ability to understand financial services business requirements. You should be a strong 'utility' type programmer with the ability to switch context quickly and efficiently with project managers, database engineers, technical operations and other platform personnel
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain code based on reading and understanding business and functional requirements following the Agile process
- Produce high-quality code to meet all project deadlines and ensuring the functionality matches the requirements
- Analyze and resolve issues found during the testing or pre-production phases of the software delivery lifecycle; coordinating changes with project team leaders and cross-work team membersProvide technical support to project team members and responding to inquiries regarding errors or questions about programs
- Interact with architects, technical leads, team members and project managers as required to address technical and schedule issues.
- Suggest and implement process improvements for estimating, development and testing processes
Required Skills
- BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or applicable programming area of study
- 8+ years prior work experience working with Database access methods and SQL constructs
- 8+ years of experience in Java, Spring MVC and/or Spring Boot.3+ years of experience in with Archival and Purging of Data.
- 3+ years of experience with integration with Job schedulers
- 3+ years of experience with Build & Deployment tools such as Maven, GIT
- 3+ years of experience in Leading teams
- Worked with streaming technologies such as Kafka
- Worked on UI technologies such as Angular
- Demonstrated a commitment to quality, writing unit tests with Junit and Mockito
- Proficiency in Analysis, Design, Build, and Deployment of Java applications and Microservices
- A desire to continue to learn and pick up new technologies and skills
Good to Have
- Experience with container based deployments such as Kubernetes, Docker, Docker Compose, Vagrant is a plus
- Work experience with any of the following PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Linux/UNIX Shell Programming, Python is a plus
- Experience within Financial Services industry including banking, wealth management
