CGI's Houston Consulting team is expanding a portfolio of data and AI-enabled transformation offerings. We are seeking a Data & AI Solution Architect who blends solution architecture with a product mindset, someone who can lead client workstreams, shape practical architectures, and help build market-facing assets that grow pipeline and credibility in Houston.
This role is ideal for a high-agency consultant who enjoys client-facing delivery and practice building: thought leadership, events, offerings, and proposals.
This position is located in our Houston, Texas office, however a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Client Delivery (primary):
. Lead workstreams on data/AI engagements spanning data governance, platform modernization, engineering/integration, analytics, and applied AI/GenAI.
. Facilitate workshops (current state, future state, use case discovery, value mapping, roadmap creation).
. Translate strategy into executable delivery plans: epics/features, delivery roadmaps, operating models, and adoption plans.
. Develop solution architectures and "good enough to build" designs: reference architectures, integration approaches, security/privacy considerations in partnership with SMEs, and build-vs-buy recommendations.
. Coach junior team members; ensure deliverable quality and client-ready storytelling.
Practice Acceleration (growth)
. Own or co-own thought leadership: POVs, client one-pagers, conference submissions, and executive briefs.
. Represent CGI in Houston: support speaking engagements, panels, university events, and industry groups (often co-presenting with leadership).
. Support business development: discovery notes, solution approach write-ups, proposal storylines, estimate inputs, and SOW drafting.
Practice Operations (enablement)
. Help standardize internal operating mechanisms: reusable SOW language, delivery playbooks, estimation models, engagement "starter kits," and lightweight invoicing/SOW hygiene processes.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
. Houston-based (or willing to relocate) and comfortable with client-facing work in a hybrid environment.
. 3-7 years of relevant experience in consulting, data/analytics, AI/ML, digital transformation, product, or solution architecture (or equivalent experience via advanced degree + applied projects).
. Strong grounding across data platforms + analytics and the ability to lead workstreams: Data management concepts (quality, lineage, governance, stewardship) Modern data engineering patterns and integration approaches Analytics and KPI design
. Applied understanding of AI / GenAI delivery: Framing use cases, value hypotheses, and evaluation approaches Understanding implementation considerations (risk, monitoring, change management, responsible use)
. Excellent client communication, structured problem-solving, and executive-ready storytelling skills.
Preferred qualifications:
. Master's degree; MBA or PhD preferred (especially if paired with practical delivery experience).
. Cloud architecture exposure (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform), MLOps familiarity, and/or platform experience (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure ML, etc.).
. Product management or experience design background (service design, journey mapping, experimentation, or roadmap ownership).
. Demonstrated external presence: published writing, conference talks, teaching, podcasts, community leadership, or active professional groups.

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 - $218,200.00.
