Data Architect

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Chicago, IL that is seeking a Data Architect. This is a brand new initiative focused on reimagining and rebuilding Data Lake architecture.

Responsibilities:
* Rebuilding their TMS (Transportation Management System) from scratch
* Creating a new Data Lake architecture that will eventually support broader engineering initiatives
* Establish architecture, standards, and future-state direction

REQUIREMENTS:
* Experience building Data Lakes from scratch in AWS
* Self-starter
* Comfortable operating in ambiguity
* Startup mentality
* Can build and define solutions without extensive requirements
* Strong architecture leadership skills
* Someone who enjoys greenfield development and building platforms from the ground up

Other helpful technologies:
* AWS Unified Studio
* Apache Iceberg
* S3 Tables
* CDC (Change Data Capture)
* DynamoDB
* Aurora PostgreSQL
* Experience designing and building modern Data Lake/Lakehouse architectures
* Experience building Bronze and Gold data layers

Nice to Have:
* AI/GenAI exposure
* Transportation Management System (TMS) experience

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
