Description
We are looking for an experienced Software Developer to join our team in Southern California on a long-term contract basis. This role will involve developing and supporting applications for large-scale projects within the automotive finance industry. You will have the opportunity to work onsite four days per week, collaborating with a dynamic team to enhance system performance and resolve production issues.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain applications for large-scale projects in the automotive finance domain.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including analyzing and addressing mainframe online and batch abends.
Optimize daily and monthly batch processes to improve performance and reduce processing time.
Conduct impact analyses across various platforms and applications to ensure seamless integration.
Create detailed documentation for estimates, design, and development processes.
Provide on-call support during off-hours for critical production batch operations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system capabilities and meet project goals.
Leverage expertise in mainframe technologies, including MQ and DB2, to deliver robust solutions.
Research and address issues related to financial services, such as payment processing, customer service, and loan administration.
Support testing activities by preparing and delivering unit test plans and results.
Requirements
Proven experience in the automotive finance industry, with a strong understanding of financial services processes such as payment processing, collections, and bankruptcy.
Proficiency in mainframe systems and tools, including MQ and DB2.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
Familiarity with unit testing practices and deliverables.
Excellent documentation skills to support design and development activities.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills to work within a team-oriented environment.
Ability to provide on-call support for production batch processes during non-business hours.
Experience with systematics or similar financial systems is a plus.
