Job Description Summary
Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. This role will lead all digital aspects for an advanced program. The systems engineer will be expected to work with internal and external stakeholders to define the modelling approach and create standard work for developing, using, interfacing, and controlling the models.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

Understand all digital program requirements and work within a matrix organization to execute on all digital aspects for the program.

Perform model-based systems design and simulation to evaluate alternate architectures and to automate validation and verification activities

Define and streamline systems engineering processes to quickly and cost effectively execute advanced technology programs with heavy emphasis on application of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using a variety of techniques, methods and tools

Perform system engineering and provide technical / project leadership on Research & Development and New Product Introduction programs

Allocate system functional requirements into efficient software and firmware architectures

Develop innovative technical solutions utilizing the full capabilities of GE Edison Works on development programs and proposals

Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers

Streamline systems engineering processes to quickly and cost effectively execute advanced technology programs

Generate and maintain systems engineering planning documents

Interact with customer engineering organizations to define and shape requirements for future platforms and systems

Perform modeling of and analysis of system safety aspects of product design

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar field from an accredited university or college

Minimum of 10 years' experience with Model Based Systems Engineering

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

This role requires the successful candidate to maintain a US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. Citizenship. Preference will be given to candidates who currently hold US Government Security Clearance

The base pay range for this position is $149,500 - $198,950. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on April 1, 2026.
