Job Description Cetera Trust Company (CTC) is an affiliate of Cetera Financial Group, a premier wealth advisory organization specializing in providing personalized investment management services. A key component of this role is developing strong working relationships with the financial professionals who partner with Cetera Trust to service their mutual clients and stakeholders. The Trust Associate has primary responsibility for routine trust administrative tasks related to new business, account opening, trust administration and client outreach. This position has direct contact with trust clients at the guidance and direction of Trust Officers. The associate must work independently while effectively prioritizing work direction from multiple sources including Trust Officers, Investment Advisors, clients, and management. Success is defined primarily through excellent organization, communication and collaboration skills.
This role offers a remote work option for candidates located in New Hampshire (including Massachusetts north of Boston), or a hybrid work schedule from our St. Paul, MN office. What you will do:- Review and facilitate new business development. Obtain information necessary to analyze applicable documents that establish the account, request due diligence of assets, and be familiar with the authorized parties in order to make a recommendation to accept. Participate in new client or financial advisor meetings during the new business process.
- Execute the administration of accounts via review of daily cash reports, data entry for money movement, draft letters for trust officer review, oversight and organization of upcoming tasks, update systems, make distributions and respond to client requests.
- Administer trusts according to trust documents and applicable state and federal law.
- Onboard new accounts through establishing personal relationships, performing initial account reviews, and creating the account synoptic record.
- Assist with Cetera new business development team members on individual cases and broader product strategies.
- Work closely with the trust administration, new business, operations and compliance associates of Cetera Trust Company to ensure the highest level of service to our clients and financial advisor partners.
- Assist with the oversight of tax accountant regarding individual and fiduciary tax planning and tax return preparation, e.g. 1040/M-1, 1041/M-2, 706/MN-706, 990 and 990-PF returns. All related tax reports, filings and payments must be made in timely compliance with applicable laws.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings with internal and external stakeholders
What you will need to have:- A minimum of 2 years of experience in trust administration within the banking or financial services industry
- Bachelor's degree
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking and communication skills
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities while working both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in the Microsoft Suite of applications: Excel, Adobe, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and Access. Familiarization with custodian platforms, such as AdviceWorks, SWP, Wealth hub, DocuSign, a plus
Travel Requirements: Up to (5%)
Compensation: The salary range for this role is $51,000- $81,000 plus competitive performance-based bonus. Compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific office location. Compensation ranges may differ in differing locations due to cost of labor considerations
