Job Description

Primary Function:

 

Intuitive is looking for a highly motivated and adaptive individual to support the Multiport AI Research data collection effort. The main objective of this role is to collect motion data on the DaVinci system, assist with engineering operations, and maintain strong data organization. A successful candidate for this position must be able to make data-driven decisions and be comfortable working in a fast-paced & changing environment. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about the robotics field, medical robotics, and improving patient lives around the world!

 

 Responsibilities:

 

Perform data collection tasks on the DaVinci Surgical Robot, including object manipulation, tabletop tasks, soft object manipulation, and more.

Operate the DaVinci Surgeon Console to perform movements and actions based on project requirements.

Start/stop recording devices and perform minor equipment and software debugging.

Analyze and report on collected data.

Upload collected data and write daily reports detailing observations and issues.

Maintain equipment in safe working condition, prioritize safety protocols, and communicate with engineering and leadership.

 

Requirements:

 

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., biomedical engineering, data science, robotics, etc)

Good hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills to complete precise manipulation tasks.

A good eye for detail. Strong observation skills that contribute to the efficient and safe completion of tasks.

Ability to follow precise instructions and learn from examples. Ability to learn common robotics motions found in surgery.

The ability to make data judgement calls that help create safe and capable autonomous surgical systems.

Proficiency with software for data upload and reporting.

Ability to perform technical troubleshooting on equipment and willingness to learn new technologies quickly.
