Mandatory Skills & Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in LAN/WAN network design, engineering, testing, and code/feature certification.
• Strong expertise in Linux networking, network automation, Kubernetes, and eBPF-based observability.
• Hands-on experience with Python, Ansible, APIs, Git, and network testing automation.
• Strong knowledge of routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, IGMP, PIM, and Layer 2 protocols such as Spanning Tree.
• Experience with Cisco platforms, including Catalyst, Nexus, ISR4K, and ASR1K.
• Knowledge of Cisco IOS/XE/NX-OS code certification, bug scrubs, patch validation, and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of Kubernetes architecture, container networking (CNI), kubectl, and cloud-native networking.
• Experience with network packet analysis tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump.
• CCIE-level expertise or at least CCNP-level experience.
• Strong understanding of network security, CVE analysis, vulnerability assessment, and remediation.

Key Responsibilities

• Test and certify network hardware, software releases, patches, and security updates.
• Design and execute functional, performance, reliability, and interoperability tests for routers, switches, and network appliances.
• Identify automation opportunities and develop automated testing solutions using Python, Ansible, APIs, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Perform lab testing and certification across campus, branch, WAN/MAN, data center, and low-latency network environments.
• Troubleshoot hardware malfunctions, performance issues, compatibility problems, and network protocol issues.
• Validate security patches and code releases, particularly those driven by CVEs and risk assessments.
• Develop engineering standards, configuration templates, design documents, and certification reports.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to evaluate products, conduct proofs of concept, and improve testing processes.
• Provide technical guidance, production support, and recommendations to technical and senior management stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• eBPF and Cilium: Network security, policy enforcement, observability, service load balancing, BGP integration, and kernel-level troubleshooting.
• Arista platforms, including 7280, 7504, and 7060 series.
• F5, A10, Fortinet, and SRX firewall/load balancer interoperability.
• Ansible playbooks integrated with the Robot Framework.
• Network testing tools such as IXIA and Spirent.
• MAB, 802.1X, NAC, port security, QoS, and IPsec.
• AWS or Azure cloud networking.
• Data center networking, cabling, and 10G/25G/40G/50G/100G connectivity.
• Router hardening, DDoS mitigation, routing protocol encryption, and out-of-band network design.
