Summary

Karman Space & Defense is a leader in the rapid design, development, and production of critical, next-generation system solutions that align with the U.S. Department of War and its allies' core mission priorities, and meet the accelerating demand for access to space. Building on nearly 50 years of success, we deliver Payload & Protection Systems, Aero/Hydrodynamic Interstage Systems, and Propulsion & Launch Systems to more than 80 prime contractors supporting over 130 space and defense programs.

In this role, you will lead Karman's enterprise technology program management office (PMO), driving disciplined execution across post-merger integration, enterprise technology roadmaps, portfolio governance, business systems initiatives, entity restructuring, and value realization. You will serve as a key execution partner to the Chief Information & Artificial Intelligence Officer and work closely with executive leaders to ensure technology-enabled initiatives are prioritized, sequenced, and delivered to support enterprise strategy, compliance, and measurable business outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Leads development and maintenance of M\&A technology integration playbooks covering readiness planning, systems integration, cybersecurity, data migration, vendor rationalization, and site onboarding.
  • Coordinates cross-functional acquisition integration with corporate development, finance, legal, HR, operations, cybersecurity, business systems, and site leadership.
  • Supports integration due diligence by identifying technology risks, application dependencies, infrastructure gaps, compliance considerations, cost impacts, and timeline requirements.
  • Drives post-merger and restructuring execution with clear ownership, decision rights, milestones, risks, and dependencies.
  • Leads entity restructuring coordination for systems alignment, ERP impacts, reporting structures, access controls, data governance, vendor contracts, and operational readiness.
  • Establishes technology portfolio governance for intake, business case development, prioritization, approval, sequencing, and execution oversight.
  • Partners with business leaders to evaluate new demand based on strategic alignment, compliance risk, operational impact, and financial value.
  • Maintains a transparent enterprise technology portfolio across information technology (IT), business systems, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI), data, and infrastructure.
  • Owns the integrated enterprise technology roadmap and translates executive priorities into actionable plans, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
  • Identifies resource gaps, conflicts, and dependencies across the portfolio and escalates key decisions with clear options and recommendations.
  • Establishes and improves PMO standards including governance gates, RAID management, status reporting, budget tracking, change control, and benefits realization.
  • Leads major enterprise programs requiring cross-functional coordination and executive sponsorship.
  • Manages project managers, analysts, vendor PMs, and cross-functional workstream leads.
  • Provides executive-ready reporting for senior leadership, including portfolio health, risks, decisions required, and value realization.
  • Defines and tracks measurable business outcomes such as cost savings, risk reduction, compliance progress, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensures technology programs appropriately account for cybersecurity, SOX IT CMMC, NIST 800-171, DFARS, controlled unclassified information (CUI), data privacy, and audit evidence requirements.
  • Partners with cybersecurity, compliance, internal audit, legal, and finance to integrate control considerations into planning and execution.
  • Communicates complex technology and integration topics clearly to executive and operational audiences and supports organizational change management.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, business, engineering, finance, operations, or a related field.
  • Ten or more years of experience in technology program management, enterprise PMO leadership, business transformation, M\&A integration, or IT portfolio management.
  • Five or more years leading complex cross-functional programs with executive-level visibility.
  • Demonstrated experience building or maturing PMO standards, portfolio governance, intake models, prioritization frameworks, roadmaps, and executive reporting.
  • Experience supporting post-merger integration, business systems transformation, entity restructuring, or enterprise technology initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise technology environments including enterprise resource planning (ERP), business applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, identity and access management, data, and vendor ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to manage complex dependencies across business functions, technology teams, vendors, and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong financial acumen including business case development, budget tracking, investment prioritization, and value realization.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, executive reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity, competing priorities, and high executive visibility.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, engineering, or other regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with CMMC, NIST 800-171, DFARS, CUI, SOX IT and compliance-driven operating models.
  • Experience with ERP or business systems transformation involving Epicor, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
  • Experience integrating IT infrastructure, business applications, cybersecurity controls, data, reporting, and operating processes during post-acquisition efforts.
  • Certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), SAFe, Lean Six Sigma, or Prosci.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other advanced degree.
  • Experience using portfolio management tools, project management platforms, dashboards, and executive-level reporting systems.
