Scrum Master

The Scrum Master is responsible for leading Agile delivery initiatives while leveraging a strong software development background to guide engineering teams in delivering scalable, high-quality solutions. The role also requires strong expertise in preparing executive-level status reports, delivering presentations, and managing cross-functional stakeholders to ensure transparency, alignment, and successful program delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. Agile Leadership & Delivery Management

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Ensure adherence to Agile principles and continuous improvement practices.
• Track sprint metrics (velocity, burn-down, cycle time) and drive performance improvements.
• Ensure predictable and on-time sprint and release delivery.

2. Technical Collaboration & Development Oversight

• Leverage hands-on development background to guide technical discussions and solution design.
• Assist in resolving technical blockers and architectural challenges.
• Ensure user stories are technically refined with clear acceptance criteria.
• Promote engineering best practices including CI/CD, DevOps, and automated testing.

3. Status Reporting & Executive Communication

• Prepare detailed weekly and monthly status reports highlighting sprint progress, risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
• Develop executive dashboards and presentations using MS Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools.
• Communicate delivery health, KPIs, and roadmap updates to leadership.
• Provide data-driven insights for decision-making.

4. Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Management

• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, QA, and DevOps teams.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment between business and technology teams.
• Facilitate cross-team coordination and dependency resolution.
• Act as a bridge between technical teams and executive leadership.

5. Risk, Issue & Dependency Management

• Identify and proactively mitigate delivery risks.
• Maintain RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies).
• Escalate critical blockers in a timely and structured manner.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on years of IT experience, including prior software development experience.
• 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master leading Agile teams.
• Strong expertise in preparing executive-level reports and presentations.
• Experience using Jira, Confluence, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Project.
• Scrum Certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent preferred).
