Role Overview
This role is essentially the Power Platform expert and problem solver for the firm's legal teams. The Legal Solutions Developer designs and builds modern, user-friendly applications using the full Microsoft ecosystem-Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, SharePoint, and related tools.
They'll work closely with innovation leaders, attorneys, and business teams to understand real-world legal workflows and develop practical, scalable solutions that improve efficiency, automate processes, and enhance the client experience. It's a mix of hands-on development, solution design, data integration, and stakeholder engagement.
The work ranges from creating custom apps (both Canvas and Model-Driven), automating processes, building dashboards, integrating with Dataverse and APIs, and partnering with teams across the firm to refine and enhance existing solutions. The environment is collaborative but also gives a lot of autonomy-ideal for someone who enjoys owning projects end-to-end.

Project Details:
Building internal and external tools. Firm support tools, power automate to on boarding and off boarding full employee life cycle management app. They should be able to pick up and run. Opportunity to work with clients as well, build legal documentation. Legal background is always a plus.
Manager Notes
- Strong proficiency and comfort with the full Microsoft ecosystem.
- 2 3 years of hands-on experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
- Solid SQL experience; C# exposure is a plus.
- Background in custom application development and solution enhancements.
- Experience with both Canvas Apps and Model-Driven Apps; we currently use Canvas Apps but are transitioning to Model-Driven for improved deployment and maintainability.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team-engaged, proactive, and comfortable partnering with end users and business stakeholders.

- Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric is beneficial.
- Experience working within or alongside a DevOps team is helpful.
Job Summary:
The Legal Solutions Developer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining applications and solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse, Power BI, and SharePoint. Depending on project requirements, the developer will create solutions using Power Automate workflows, model-driven apps, canvas apps, Power BI dashboards, SharePoint integrations, or third-party Microsoft partner applications as needed. This role focuses on leveraging the Microsoft ecosystem to meet business needs while ensuring robust data integration and scalability. Reporting to the Director of Innovation and working closely with the Applications team, Data Management team, and Training and Development team, the developer will play a key role in driving innovation and delivering high-impact solutions for the firm.
Essential Job Duties:
- Application Development and Customization
- Build applications and solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform, tailoring each project to business requirements.
- Design and implement solutions using Power BI, SharePoint, and Power Automate for workflows and integrations.
- Develop model-driven apps and canvas apps within Power Apps, ensuring scalability and usability.
- Utilize Dataverse to manage and integrate data effectively across applications.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with the Applications team and other business stakeholders to understand project requirements and propose appropriate Microsoft 365 solutions.
- Work closely with the Innovation team to prototype, develop, and deploy user-focused applications.
- Provide guidance and technical expertise to stakeholders on the capabilities and best practices of the Power Platform.
- Work with the Director of Innovation to collaborate with Attorneys and their clients to understand the pain points of their practice and develop rapid-response solutions that meet their immediate needs.
- Data Management and Integration
- Ensure solutions are designed with a strong understanding of data structures, relationships, and integration within Dataverse and other data sources.
- Leverage APIs, including Microsoft Graph API, to integrate external data and services.
- Optimize and Maintenance
- Monitor and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including solution design, user guides, and training materials.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve existing solutions and recommend enhancements.
- Knowledge Sharing and Documentation
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including solution design, user guides, and training materials in collaboration with the Training and Development team.
- Provide training and support to end-users and team members on deployed solutions.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on Microsoft 365 features, updates, and best practices, including advancements in Dataverse, Power Platform, and Azure.
- Recommend and implement innovative solutions to improve workflows and user experience across the firm.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent work experience and 5-7+ years of overall professional experience
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft 365 development, including application building.
- Hands-on experience in developing model-driven apps, with proficiency in canvas apps as well.
- Demonstrated ability to build solutions using Power BI, Power Automate, and SharePoint.
- Experience with Dynamics and Dataverse.
- Familiarity with data governance and security best practices.
- Microsoft 365 Developer Associate or similar certification preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 technologies, including Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps (model-driven and canvas), Dataverse, and SharePoint.
- Strong understanding of data structures, relationships, and integration within the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Experience with REST APIs, Microsoft Graph API, and other integration technologies.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages, such as PowerShell, C#, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS.
- Ability to analyze technology needs, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Familiarity with Azure services and their integration with Microsoft 365 solutions.
- Previous experience working in a law firm or with legal technology companies preferred but not required.
