Business Analyst

Job at a Glance

  • Location: hybrid in Columbus, OH 
  • Contract: W2 only, 12 month contract with potential for extension or conversion to full time 
  • Pay: $59/hr

Key Responsibilities

  • Build a strong understanding of assigned business processes, functions, roles, and rules
  • Own the functional solution of the initiative being delivered
  • Collaborate with the Business to elicit requirements, define acceptance criteria, and maintain a prioritized product backlog
  • Create user stories with appropriate granularity
  • Clarify inconsistencies and resolve issues to align user expectations with the delivered product
  • Test deliverables against acceptance criteria to validate meeting business goals
  • Lead activities of assigned projects utilizing BMW ITPM processes
  • Coordinate resources to ensure on-time, high-quality, and cost-efficient project delivery
  • Execute project management tasks and manage artifacts for successful project completion
  • Lead or support the Agile team in adopting and executing Agile processes
  • Facilitate Agile events such as daily scrums, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to manage the product backlog
  • Clear obstacles and enable team efforts
  • Support DevOps objectives by steering support tasks, resolving escalated issues, and planning upgrades
  • Execute ITSM/ITIL processes to ensure stable operations and SLA adherence
  • Coordinate daily activities, lead and mentor team members, and manage release planning
  • Resolve or escalate risks and issues
  • Balance speed, quality, and cost in technical solutions development
  • Develop solutions considering evolving technology and future business needs
  • Collaborate closely with IT and Business teams, ensuring communication aligns with company values

Required Skills

  • 3 - 5 years IT experience
  • 2 - 3 years project management experience
  • Strong knowledge of project delivery concepts and processes
  • Familiarity with financial services lease and loan applications
  • Experience in a multi-location, international environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex topics to management at all levels

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Skills

  • 1 - 2 years Financial Services industry experience
  • Experience supporting or working within an agile/DevOps environment
  • Ability to sell complex topics effectively across organizational levels
