About the Role
We are partnering with a leading national retail and consumer goods organization to hire an experienced UX Designer with deep expertise in design systems. This role will play a critical part in shaping and scaling enterprise-level design systems that support a broad ecosystem of digital products across web and mobile platforms.
As a senior contributor, you will help define how design systems evolve, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and scalability while enabling product teams to create high-quality user experiences efficiently. You will work at the intersection of design, engineering, and emerging AI-driven workflows, helping prepare the organization for the future of product design and development.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a UX Designer with strong design systems experience to help evolve and scale large, multi-platform systems supporting a wide range of products and teams. This role involves creating and governing reusable components, patterns, tokens, and documentation, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.Core Responsibilities: - Design, build, and maintain reusable components, patterns, and assets within Figma
- Partner with design, engineering, product, and accessibility teams to ensure consistency and usability across digital experiences
- Drive the evolution of the design system by identifying opportunities for standardization, scalability, and efficiency
- Create and maintain clear documentation, usage guidelines, and best practices to support adoption at scale
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure alignment between design systems and coded implementations
- Ensure adherence to accessibility standards and responsive design best practices across platforms
- Participate in governance processes and design reviews to maintain system integrity and quality
- Explore and support modern workflows, including AI-assisted design tools and design-to-development integrations
QualificationsRequired Qualifications: - 5+ years of UX design experience, including significant work with design systems
- Expert-level proficiency in Figma (component libraries, variants, auto-layout, tokens, and governance)
- Deep understanding of design systems architecture, including components, patterns, tokens, accessibility, and documentation
- Experience creating and maintaining reusable component libraries and scalable design assets
- Strong experience collaborating with engineers to ensure alignment between design and development
- Knowledge of responsive design principles and modern digital product design practices
- Experience supporting products across web and mobile platforms
- Strong understanding of accessibility and inclusive design standards
- Proven ability to create documentation, usage guidelines, and governance frameworks
- Experience working in cross-functional teams with product managers, developers, and stakeholders
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders
- Portfolio demonstrating systems thinking, reusable design, documentation, governance, and adoption at scale
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience supporting design systems across web, iOS, and Android platforms
- Experience with design tokens and system governance practices
- Familiarity with design-to-code workflows and modern product development pipelines
- Exposure to AI-assisted design workflows, automation tools, or machine-readable design systems
- Experience with intent-driven design approaches and emerging design technologies
