Role Overview
This position is for a junior-level Data Scientist to join a new data science function being built from the ground up. The role involves building predictive models based on business data, including data preparation, feature engineering, and model deployment. You will coordinate with the data engineering team to scale and deploy models and their related data pipelines into a production environment, with a focus on either finance or supply chain use cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform data mining, exploration, and analysis to identify opportunities for improving business processes.
- Design, train, evaluate, and implement machine learning algorithms and predictive models.
- Maintain and monitor ML/AI models post-deployment.
- Develop solutions for either finance/P&L (e.g., customer profitability, pricing) or supply chain/operations (e.g., routing optimization, inventory management).
- Work with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), metrics, and forecasting models.
- Generate data visualizations to provide business insights.
- Collaborate with the team through all project phases, from requirements definition to deployment.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Approximately two or more years of experience in predictive modeling and machine learning, including hands-on experience deploying, maintaining, and monitoring ML/AI models into production.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python and SQL is required. Strong experience with Databricks and PySpark is necessary. Knowledge of data science toolkits such as NumPy and Pandas is also expected.
Education: A bachelor's degree in data science, data analytics, or a related field is preferred, or comparable job experience.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated base salary for this position is $90,000 to $108,000 annually, with eligibility for a performance bonus. A comprehensive benefits package is available, which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, FSA/HSA, and company-paid life insurance starting from day one. Additional benefits include a 401(k) profit sharing plan, paid time off, pet insurance, maternity/paternity leave, and a tuition reimbursement program.
