Summary

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Sr. Technical Product Analyst/ BSA (Heavy documentation & App Discovery) for a contract assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in New York, NY .

Responsibilities :
  • Support Product Owners and Agile teams with requirements elicitation, analysis, and detailed business and technical documentation.
  • Assess the current state of documentation across Confluence, SharePoint, and JIRA, identifying missing, outdated, duplicate, and orphaned content.
  • Develop a standardized documentation and communication strategy for the Agile Release Train, including taxonomy, classification, storage standards, communication templates, and style guidelines.
  • Establish document version-management and lifecycle processes, including version control, archival, retention, branching, and rollback procedures.
  • Develop standardized requirements templates covering data flows, sequence diagrams, file specifications, data dictionaries, API contracts, error/exception scenarios, and SLA/performance requirements.
  • Create documentation cleanup and migration guidance for application teams, including Confluence structure, tagging/labeling standards, lifecycle processes, timelines, and success metrics.
  • Perform current-state discovery and create process flows and detailed requirements documentation for prioritized applications.
  • Document application integrations and dependencies, including interfaces, data movement, file exchanges, APIs, and upstream/downstream systems where applicable.
  • Conduct documentation gap analysis and prioritization across the application portfolio, identifying missing documentation that creates migration or architecture risk.
  • Partner with Product Owners, architects, engineers, and business SMEs to ensure documentation is sufficiently detailed to support application replacement, modernization, and cloud migration efforts.
  • Train key resources and application teams on the new documentation templates, standards, and lifecycle processes.
Required Skills :
  • Strong experience with requirements elicitation and documentation, including technical requirements, PRDs, user flows, process maps, and detailed application documentation.
  • Experience creating process flows and technical diagrams using tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or Miro; familiarity with BPMN, swimlane diagrams, and value stream mapping.
  • Strong hands-on experience creating, extracting, organizing, and maintaining documentation within Confluence, SharePoint, JIRA, and/or JIRA Align.
  • Experience with user story writing and backlog management, including clear acceptance criteria and definition of done.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, including sprint planning, refinement, retrospectives, and working within scaled Agile/SAFe environments.
  • Working understanding of APIs and system integrations, including REST APIs, webhooks, interfaces, and data flows.
  • Experience supporting or documenting application modernization and cloud migration initiatives, including current-state requirements and system dependencies.
  • Strong data analysis skills, including the ability to write queries, analyze data, and validate requirements or product assumptions.
  • Advanced Excel/spreadsheet skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and related data-analysis functionality.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to work across Product Owners, engineering, architecture, business teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, facilitate discussions, and quickly understand complex applications and business processes.
