About the Position

Our client is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to help keep fleet vehicles and equipment roadworthy and ready for service. This on-site role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, welding, and fabrication in a shop environment.

Pay & Schedule Details

• $24.29 per hour. $1.00 per hour night-shift differential \t
• Day shift: 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. \t
• Night shift: 3:30 p.m. to midnight \t
• Weekly pay \t
• Overtime available for hours worked over 40

• On-site maintenance position in Wahoo, Nebraska \t
• Fleet vehicle and equipment maintenance \t
• Preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, welding, and fabrication \t
• Hydraulic system troubleshooting \t
• In-shop repairs, with equipment transported for specialized repairs as needed \t
• Occasional roadside assistance for disabled vehicles may be required

Key Responsibilities

\t
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment. \t
• Review driver vehicle inspection reports and address identified maintenance concerns. \t
• Troubleshoot hydraulic systems and electrical wiring. \t
• Perform welding and metal fabrication work. \t
• Follow all safety rules and regulations and participate in scheduled safety meetings. \t
• Maintain a clean, organized shop using 5S principles. \t
• Respond to roadside service calls for disabled vehicles when required. \t
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

\t
• 3-5 years of recent, relevant, and verifiable driving experience. \t
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record with no major traffic violations or preventable accidents in the last 3 years. \t
• Must meet all DOT and FMCSA requirements. \t
• High school diploma or GED. \t
• Must provide and maintain personal mechanic tools.

Preferred Qualifications

\t
• Class A CDL preferred. \t
• Welding or metal fabrication experience, or technical schooling. \t
• Experience troubleshooting electrical wiring. \t
• Strong hydraulic troubleshooting skills. \t
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated approach to work.
