Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in need of a Senior Medical Device Electrical Engineer. This position will be 5 days onsite in Carlsbad, CA.

Responsibilities:
* Lead the design and development of electrical subsystems by interpreting customer requirements and validating manufacturing and assembly methods
* Oversee system evaluations through detailed analysis of electrical systems, components, and applications
* Develop and execute testing strategies including simulation, prototyping, debugging, and performance validation to ensure system integrity
* Ensure product quality and reliability through rigorous design verification and validation processes
* Prepare comprehensive documentation including technical reports and summaries to capture insights and drive continuous improvement
* Optimize existing designs to enhance performance, manufacturability, and cost efficiency
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues through root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
* Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering growth and skill development
* Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, software, and systems teams to align development efforts with organizational objectives
* Stay ahead of industry trends by integrating emerging technologies and innovative solutions into product development
* Perform additional duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred
* 4+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience
* 2+ years of experience developing medical device systems for electrophysiology (EP) applications
* Experience with Class II or Class III medical devices is required
* Proficiency in electronics design tools such as schematic capture (Altium, OrCAD)
* Extensive experience with interface protocols including SPI, I-C, UART, and Ethernet
* Strong knowledge of PLL, DDS, ADC, DAC, and power supply design and monitoring
* Familiarity with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) SoCs and DSP filters preferred
* Experience designing systems with low-noise characteristics preferred
* Demonstrated ability to drive technical decisions and influence cross-functional teams
* Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on approach

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
