Role Summary 

This role leads the Architecture & Strategy track for the Client engagement. The individual will conduct a comprehensive landscape analysis of Client''s data platform, co-create a prioritized backlog with the Client Data Engineering team, and define a target-state data architecture and industrialization strategy 

Key Responsibilities 

·         Conduct a thorough analysis of existing data landscape — models, pipelines, data flows, and integrations — across System of reports, Data Sources, Databases, Datawarehouses, BigQuery, Amplitude, and Periscope and other applications. 

·         Map current-state data architecture and identify gaps, inefficiencies, and technical debt 

·         Co-define a prioritized backlog with Client''s internal Data Engineering team, aligning to business value and feasibility 

·         Design a 3-stage data model (Raw → Transformed → Served) with a semantic layer on BigQuery and standardized metric definitions 

·         Define a data governance framework covering data catalog & lineage, quality checks & monitoring, PII/sensitive data controls, and row-level security for BI 

·         Evaluate and recommend a Modern BI tool to replace or succeed Periscope 

·         Deliver: Architecture blueprint, BI tool recommendation, and phased delivery roadmap 

Required Skills & Experience 

·         5+ years in data architecture, analytics engineering, or data platform roles 

·         Deep expertise in Google BigQuery — data modeling, optimization, and governance 

·         Proficiency in dbt (data build tool) project setup, testing, and documentation 

·         Experience with Python ETL and SQL pipelines 

·         Familiarity with BI tools in the modern data stack (Periscope, Looker, Metabase, Tableau, or equivalents) 

·         Strong understanding of data governance — lineage, cataloging, PII controls, and access management 

·         Excellent stakeholder engagement and discovery facilitation skills 

·         Experience working with product and data science teams to translate business needs into data architecture decisions 

Nice to Have 

·         Experience with Amplitude or other product analytics platforms 

·         Prior work in EdTech or B2C SaaS data environments 

·         Exposure to AI for BI or semantic layer tooling
