Job Title: Oracle EBS R12 - Senior Techno-Functional Consultant (Finance & Procurement)
Locations: Santa Clara, CA (onsite) (Need Local)
Duration: 12+ months contract
Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Oracle EBS R12 Techno-Functional Consultant with a strong blend of functional depth and hands-on technical capability across Finance and Procurement modules. The ideal candidate leads with functional expertise—owning module setups, business process design, and stakeholder engagement—while independently delivering technical solutions including RICEW components, integrations, and automation. This is a true techno-functional role where both dimensions are actively exercised, not just understood.
Key Requirements Functional Expertise (60%)
- 10/12+ years of Oracle EBS R12 experience with strong functional ownership across:
- General Ledger (GL): Chart of Accounts design, accounting setups, ledger and legal entity configurations, period-end and year-end close, journal entries, intercompany accounting, financial reporting
- Accounts Payable (AP): Invoice processing, payment terms, supplier setups, payment runs, withholding tax, AP-to-GL reconciliation
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Customer setups, invoicing, receipts, AutoInvoice, revenue recognition, AR aging and collections
- Fixed Assets (FA): Asset books setup, depreciation methods, mass additions, asset retirement, FA-to-GL reconciliation
- iProcurement & Purchasing (PO): Requisition-to-PO lifecycle, approval hierarchies, sourcing rules, blanket purchase agreements, supplier management
- Receiving (RCV): Receipt routing, inspection setups, return-to-vendor processing
- Proven ability to configure and set up Oracle Finance and Procurement modules end-to-end — including system options, profile options, lookups, flexfields, approval workflows, and document sequencing
- Hands-on experience with business process mapping and fit-gap analysis — translating business requirements into Oracle functional designs, configuration workbooks, and solution blueprints
- Proficiency in period-end and year-end close processes across GL, AP, AR, and FA — including reconciliation, accruals, subledger accounting (SLA), and audit support
- Experience writing Functional Design Documents (FDDs), leading UAT with business teams, and managing defect resolution through to sign-off
- Ability to lead patch and upgrade impact assessments — identifying functional impacts, coordinating regression testing, and validating business process continuity
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Approval Management Engine (AME), Workflow Builder, and approval hierarchy configurations for Finance and Procurement
- Proficiency in Web ADI for data uploads and Financial Statement Generator (FSG) for custom financial reporting
- Familiarity with Oracle Tax (eBTax) setups and Subledger Accounting (SLA) accounting rule configurations
Technical Capability (40%)
- Solid RICEW delivery experience — independently designing and delivering Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Extensions, and Workflows across Finance and Procurement modules
- Hands-on proficiency in PL/SQL — writing and tuning custom packages, procedures, triggers, and scripts for data fixes, conversions, and extensions
- Experience developing BI Publisher reports for financial and procurement outputs — including complex templates, bursting, and scheduling
- Working knowledge of Oracle Forms and OAF (Oracle Application Framework) — able to extend and personalize standard Oracle pages and forms
- Familiarity with OIC (Oracle Integration Cloud), REST/SOAP APIs — for building and supporting integrations between Oracle EBS and third-party systems
- Experience with performance tuning — query optimization, concurrent program tuning, and patch impact analysis at the database level
- Hands-on exposure to applying AI/ML or automation within Oracle environments — process automation, predictive analytics, or AI-assisted workflows to drive operational efficiency
Essential Attributes
- Acts as the senior techno-functional SME across Finance and Procurement — equally trusted by business owners for functional guidance and by technical teams for solution design
- Drives end-to-end solution delivery — from requirements gathering, functional design, and configuration through to technical build, testing, and go-live support
- Strong stakeholder communication — able to engage Finance Controllers, Procurement Managers, and business owners while also collaborating effectively with developers and architects
- Proactively identifies process improvement and automation opportunities and sees them through to implementation
- Comfortable leading training, documentation, and knowledge transfer for both business users and junior team members
- Bridges the gap between business and IT — translating functional requirements into technical specifications and vice versa
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in EBS upgrade projects (e.g., R12.1 to R12.2 migrations) covering both functional re-configuration and technical object remediation
- Exposure to Oracle Cloud Financials as a future-state awareness
- Experience in semiconductor, manufacturing, or high-tech industry Oracle implementations
Best Regards,
Ashish Singh
