STC is seeking candidates for a Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) / National Environmental Satellite Data and Information Service (NESDIS) / Office of Common Services (OCS) on the NESDIS Systems Engineering Services contract.
V&V Engineers ensure that enterprise ground systems, cloud-based common services, and mission applications are built correctly and satisfy approved requirements before operational deployment. This role supports the NESDIS Common Cloud Framework (NCCF), the NESDIS Ground Enterprise (NGE), and associated cloud-based common services throughout the full system development lifecycle.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Verification and Validation Planning: Develop test strategies, test plans, test procedures, test scripts, and acceptance criteria that directly correspond to defined requirements. Ensure systems, applications, interfaces, and services satisfy approved requirements prior to operational deployment.
- Test Execution and Reporting: Support execution of verification and validation testing activities across development, test, user acceptance, staging, and production environments. Produce test execution reports, defect tracking reports, and final V&V assessment reports documenting results and outstanding issues.
- Traceability and Compliance: Develop and maintain Verification Cross Reference Matrices (VCRMs) and Requirements Verification Status Reports to demonstrate compliance with approved requirements and support auditability of all verification activities. Ensure bidirectional traceability between requirements, test cases, and verification results.
- Defect Management: Perform defect tracking, root-cause analysis, and corrective action coordination associated with failed tests, integration issues, operational discrepancies, and requirements verification deficiencies.
- Governance and Standards Compliance: Support compliance activities to ensure cloud-based services and enterprise initiatives align with NOAA, NESDIS, NIST, FedRAMP, and other applicable Federal policies and standards. Utilize Government-designated tools including Jira and Confluence to document test status, track defects, and provide reporting.
- Agile and SAFe Participation: Participate in Agile and SAFe planning events, sprint activities, technical reviews, Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), demonstrations, and Program Increment (PI) planning activities to ensure alignment between requirements, development activities, and testing efforts.
