Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior API & Integration Engineer with extensive hands-on experience in enterprise API management, middleware integration, and cloud-native integration platforms. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in MuleSoft or other leading API & Integration platforms, enterprise integration architecture, and long-term Financial Services projects.

The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-grade API and integration solutions while partnering with Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Cyber Security, Data Engineering, and Business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing integrations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement enterprise integration solutions using modern API and middleware platforms such as MuleSoft, IBM API Connect, Apigee, Boomi, TIBCO, or similar enterprise integration tools.
  • Build scalable RESTful and GraphQL APIs and reusable integration services.
  • Design enterprise integration patterns including API, messaging, event-driven, file transfer (MFT), and microservices architectures.
  • Develop secure integrations with enterprise applications, cloud platforms, databases, and third-party systems.
  • Implement enterprise security using OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, mTLS, API Keys, and IAM best practices.
  • Build highly available and scalable integration platforms on Kubernetes and container-based environments.
  • Develop reusable connectors, orchestration services, error handling, retry mechanisms, and monitoring solutions.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architects to define API governance, standards, security policies, and best practices.
  • Create architecture documents, technology impact assessments, and technical design documentation.
  • Troubleshoot complex production integration issues across APIs, middleware, networking, and backend systems.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, dashboards, alerting, and operational runbooks.
  • Work closely with business teams, product owners, infrastructure, security teams, and third-party vendors throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of enterprise API & Integration experience.
  • Extensive experience with MuleSoft or similar enterprise integration platforms such as Apigee, IBM API Connect, TIBCO, Boomi, Red Hat Fuse, Software AG webMethods, or equivalent.
  • Strong experience designing enterprise API architectures and integration solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, Microservices, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Linux environments.
  • Experience with OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, mTLS, API security, and Identity & Access Management.
  • Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, JMS, RabbitMQ, and enterprise messaging systems.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases and distributed systems.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK, LogicMonitor, or equivalent.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, architecture, and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Strong Financial Services/Banking domain experience is mandatory.
  • Experience working on large-scale, long-term enterprise financial transformation projects.
  • Experience collaborating with Enterprise Architecture, Cyber Security, Infrastructure, and Data Engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of API governance, security, compliance, scalability, and enterprise integration best practices.
