Field Office Technician

Varmoda is seeking an experienced IT Field Support Specialist to provide on-site technical support across Client program field offices. The ideal candidate will support reliable IT operations by performing infrastructure and end-user device wellness checks, evaluating network performance, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and supporting conference room technology. This role requires strong technical and customer-support skills, proficiency with remote support and ticketing systems, and the flexibility to travel to field locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy to Client program field offices to perform IT infrastructure and end-user device wellness checks.
• Evaluate network performance and identify or troubleshoot connectivity and infrastructure-related issues.
• Inspect and support conference room equipment to help maintain reliable functionality.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and end-user device issues.
• Set up, maintain, and support IT equipment and associated end-user technologies.
• Ensure field-office IT activities align with applicable Client IT policies.
• Assist with IT equipment disposal training and related support activities.
• Help onsite personnel properly document and route IT issues through established ticketing systems.
• Use remote-support tools to diagnose and resolve technical issues when appropriate.
• Manage multiple technical support activities while communicating effectively with onsite personnel.
• Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 4 years of experience in IT and/or field or end-user support roles.
• Strong technical knowledge of hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
• Experience with IT equipment setup and maintenance.
• Proficiency with remote-support tools and IT ticketing systems.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively support end users.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Willingness to travel to Client program field-office locations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with the USACE IT environment and associated policies.
• CompTIA A+ certification.
• Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator or comparable relevant Microsoft certification.
• Previous experience supporting IT operations in field-office environments.
