Hybrid Onsite Every Other Week in Westlake, TX

Our client is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and deliver modern data solutions supporting compliance and risk applications. The role will develop and manage cloud data pipelines, integrate diverse data sources, and enable analytics through robust data modeling and SQL. The engineer will collaborate across agile teams to implement scalable, resilient architectures on Azure and other cloud platforms. The work will emphasize reliability, performance, and clear communication with technical and business partners.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $58.00 to $68.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop data services that support compliance and risk applications.
  • Build and manage data pipelines in Azure Data Factory integrating various data sources and APIs.
  • Implement ETL/ELT processes and scheduling using Azure Data Factory and related tools.
  • Collaborate with chapter leads, squad leads, tech leads, and architects to set technical roadmaps.
  • Produce scalable and resilient cloud-based systems aligned with long-term strategy.
  • Understand detailed requirements and deliver solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
  • Perform deep data analysis across multiple database platforms using advanced SQL.
  • Apply data modeling techniques and best practices for relational and dimensional models.
  • Work within DevOps practices to develop, deploy, and maintain data pipelines and services.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business analytic needs into data solutions.
  • Focus on resiliency and reliability across data platforms and pipelines.
  • Communicate technical challenges, solution options, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Take ownership and accountability while adapting to a changing workload.

Experience Requirements:
  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering, analysis, data warehouses, and data lakes.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience across multiple database platforms.
  • Proficiency with relational databases such as Oracle SQL and PL/SQL or similar RDBMS.
  • Experience with cloud data warehousing, preferably Snowflake or equivalent services.
  • Expertise in ETL/ELT data movement and scheduling, specifically with Azure Data Factory.
  • Hands-on experience building and managing Azure Data Factory pipelines with diverse data sources and APIs.
  • Experience with data modeling techniques and tools such as PowerDesigner.
  • Experience working in agile, multi-developer environments following design and coding best practices.
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and deploying pipelines in cloud-native infrastructure.
  • Experience with AWS or Microsoft Azure services such as Lambda or S3.
  • Ability to translate business analytic needs into technical data solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Strong focus on resiliency, reliability, and performance optimization.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform and Power Automate for data integration (preferred).
  • Experience in data architecture and database design (preferred).
  • Scripting or coding experience in Python, Unix, or Java (preferred).

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technology-related field such as Computer Science or Engineering.
  • AWS Certification (preferred).
