Qualifications:- Hands-on installation experience in radio communications and a strong understanding of two-way radio theory and communications systems.
- The ability to program, troubleshoot, and perform system diagnostics on both simple and complex radio systems.
- Proficiency using industry-standard test equipment, including service monitors/analyzers, watt meters, and hand tools.
- Knowledge of battery backup systems, base stations, repeaters, multicouplers, duplexers, and basic networking concepts.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications and specialized radio programming software.
- A strong understanding of RF theory.
- The ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Responsibilities:- Repair and provide technical support and documentation for Low Band, VHF/UHF, and 800/900 MHz analog and digital systems, mobile and portable subscriber equipment, simulcast, conventional, trunking, paging, telemetry, and microwave systems.
- Install, maintain, and repair base systems, repeaters, remote controls, multiplexers, antenna systems, microwave systems, battery backup systems, and solar power systems.
- Install and maintain dispatch console equipment.
- Diagnose and repair PA systems, BDA/DAS systems, and other electronic components.
- Train junior technicians and provide leadership and mentorship to team members.
Preferred Certifications:- FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL).
- Certified Electronics Technician (CET) or equivalent industry certification.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlottesville, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
