Position Summary

The Applications Sales Engineer serves as the critical technical and commercial interface between customers, engineering, and sales. This role combines deep expertise in electronics, aerospace/space systems, and radiation-hardened (rad-hard) technologies with customer-facing engagement.

You will drive business growth by developing technical solutions, supporting proposals, and ensuring our electronic components and subsystems align with evolving customer requirements in demanding environments.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Sales Support

  • Serve as the primary technical interface for customers across pre-sales and post-sales activities
  • Develop and present technical solutions, proposals, and product configurations
  • Lead and support customer meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions
  • Identify customer requirements and position solutions in aerospace, space, and high-reliability electronics applications
  • Contribute to win strategies, capture planning, and pricing inputs
  • Build strong relationships with customer engineering, program, and procurement teams

Technical Expertise & Product Support

  • Act as a subject matter expert in electronic components, subsystems, and rad-hard / radiation-tolerant technologies
  • Translate customer requirements into optimized technical solutions
  • Support applications involving power electronics, embedded systems, and space-qualified hardware
  • Evaluate competitive offerings and support differentiation strategies
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and address customer inquiries and objections

New Product Development & Strategy

  • Support new product development from concept through production
  • Provide voice-of-customer feedback to engineering and product management
  • Identify emerging needs in space, aerospace, and advanced electronics markets
  • Assist in defining and validating next-generation product requirements
  • Contribute to long-term product and technology roadmaps

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a liaison between customers, engineering, manufacturing, and business units
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Engineering teams
  • Support internal and external technical training on products and applications

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required
  • Experience: 6 8+ years in:
    • Applications Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Technical Sales
    • Strong background in electronics for aerospace, space, or defense applications
    • Experience with radiation-hardened (rad-hard) or radiation-tolerant components and systems
    • Familiarity with power architectures, electronic subsystems, and embedded computing (e.g., SBCs, flight processors)
    • Experience supporting technical proposals and customer-facing sales efforts preferred.
