Job Details

An established mechanical services contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Building Automation Service Technician to support advanced controls service work across commercial facilities. This organization has been delivering commercial HVAC, plumbing, and building automation solutions for decades and supports a wide range of environments including healthcare, industrial, commercial, and mission-critical facilities.

This role functions as the senior technical resource within the controls service team, responsible for troubleshooting complex building automation systems, supporting system integrations, and mentoring field technicians. The ideal candidate is highly experienced with BAS troubleshooting, networking, and HVAC control strategies, and is comfortable working directly with customers and IT teams to resolve complex system issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and resolve complex building automation and HVAC control system issues
  • Troubleshoot BAS programming, communications networks, integrations, and control sequences
  • Perform system upgrades, database modifications, and performance optimization
  • Lead technical execution on complex service calls and small BAS service projects
  • Work with customer IT teams on networking, IP configuration, and remote system connectivity
  • Integrate BAS platforms with third-party equipment and mechanical systems
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior technicians
  • Communicate with facility teams to diagnose issues, explain solutions, and ensure system performance

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in building automation / HVAC controls service
  • Strong troubleshooting experience with BAS programming, networks, and system integrations
  • Knowledge of HVAC mechanical systems and control sequences
  • Experience working directly with building owners, engineers, and IT teams
  • Ability to lead technical work independently in the field
  • Experience with Niagara or other major BAS platforms is highly preferred
