Role Title: Lead Data Analyst/ Area Research Analyst

We are looking for an experienced Lead Data Analyst/ Area Research to support business research, data analysis, reporting, and visualization initiatives for a retail-focused MarTech team. The role will require strong hands-on capability in SQL, especially BigQuery, along with experience working on large and complex datasets. The analyst will be expected to perform exploratory analysis, identify business trends, generate insights, and create clear visual stories using Tableau and Power BI.
This role is well suited for someone who can work independently with business stakeholders, understand ambiguous analytical asks, translate them into data requirements, and deliver actionable insights for decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform area research and analytical deep dives to support business, marketing, and customer-focused initiatives.
Write complex SQL queries in BigQuery to extract, transform, validate, and analyze large datasets.
Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and business opportunities using Python
Build dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Tableau and Power BI.
Work with large-scale and complex datasets across customer, sales, marketing, geography, product, and campaign domains.
Partner with internal business teams to understand requirements, clarify objectives, and convert business questions into analytical outputs.
Prepare clear summaries, insights, and recommendations for business stakeholders.
Validate data quality, reconcile metrics, and ensure accuracy of reports and dashboards.
Support ad hoc analysis, recurring reporting, and executive-level business reviews.
Required Skills:
Strong SQL development experience, preferably with Google BigQuery.
Hands-on experience in Tableau and Power BI for dashboarding and visualization.
Strong exploratory analysis, data profiling, and insight-generation skills using Python
Experience working with large, complex, and multi-source datasets.
Good understanding of business analysis, KPI tracking, and performance reporting.
Strong communication skills to coordinate with internal business partners.
Ability to work in EST hours and collaborate effectively in a remote setup.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in retail, ecommerce, MarTech, customer analytics, marketing analytics, or area research.
Exposure to Google Cloud Platform and modern data warehouse environments.
Ability to convert business problems into structured analytical frameworks.
