Role Overview
A financial services organization is seeking a Lead Business Systems Analyst for its Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) team. This position involves developing solutions that enable the business to leverage data as a key asset. The role requires understanding business needs, documenting technical requirements, and managing the product backlog within an Agile framework. Key technologies include Snowflake, DataStage, Python/PySpark, Infogix, and Tableau.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison and knowledge source for stakeholders, the product owner, and team members.
- Work within an Agile environment to develop Features and User Stories.
- Facilitate requirement gathering sessions with the Agile team, Product Owner, and business stakeholders, including the documentation of source-to-target data mappings.
- Collaborate with the Product Owner and other subject matter experts to refine Epics, leading to the creation of Features and User-Stories.
- Lead backlog refinement sessions to detail user stories, define acceptance criteria, and establish story points with team members.
- Participate in the identification, quantification, and mitigation of project risks and issues.
- Work with Application Business Systems Analysts to identify and escalate impediments to the Scrum Master.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's Degree is required.
Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in a Data Warehouse environment is required.
Technical Skills: At least 3 years of experience using SQL to create ad-hoc queries and analyze data is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in the financial services or banking industry.
- 5+ years of experience with Snowflake and AWS S3.
- 5+ years of experience with data modeling activities using Erwin or similar tools.
- 5+ years of experience with enterprise data warehousing best practices and standards.
- 5+ years of data mapping experience creating source-to-target mappings.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks across multiple projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience leading other Business Systems Analysts on a project team.
Compensation & Benefits
The estimated pay rate for this position upon conversion is 110-120K + benefits and bonus opportunity.
