Job Title: AI Agent Engineer
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid: Onsite + Telework) Locals only
Duration: 4+ Months with possibility of extension
Key Responsibilities
Research, design, develop, and manage software applications
Build and deploy AI-driven agentic solutions and autonomous workflows
Develop and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems
Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) via APIs into enterprise systems
Collaborate with developers, UX designers, and business/system analysts
Test, evaluate, and enhance software applications and AI models
Implement AI governance, model lifecycle management, and evaluation frameworks
Develop secure data access using Model Context Protocol (MCP)
Apply AI safety measures including guardrails, content filtering, and compliance controls
Ensure secure handling of sensitive data including PII/PHI
Must have:
4+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering or advanced data science
4+ years of proven track record in building and deploying production-grade autonomous agents
4+ years of strong experience in context engineering for LLM-driven applications
4+ years of hands-on experience with frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or AutoGPT
4+ years of experience implementing RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures using vector databases
4+ years of proficiency in Python and AI/ML libraries (OpenAI, Hugging Face, Azure AI)
4+ years of experience integrating LLMs via APIs, with knowledge of AI governance, model lifecycle management, and evaluation
4+ years of experience implementing and extending the Model Context Protocol (MCP) for secure data access, along with AI guardrails, content filtering, and safety controls
4+ years of strong understanding of data privacy and handling of sensitive data (PII/PHI)
Preferred Skills:
2+ years of experience building multi-agent or autonomous agentic workflows
2+ years of experience optimizing LLM cost, token usage, and performance
2+ years of familiarity with enterprise AI deployment patterns and scalability considerations
