Estimated Starting Salary Range: USD $152,150.00/Yr. - USD $253,550.00/Yr. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
Description
SRC is searching for a skilled Senior Systems Engineer, with a primary focus on managing and optimizing the Nutanix hypervisor environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, testing, support, and patching of Nutanix systems, ensuring high availability and performance of the virtualized infrastructure. While Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) certification is preferred, we welcome candidates with experience in other hypervisor platforms who are committed to obtaining NCP certification within six months of hire.
Install, configure, and maintain Nutanix hypervisor environments to support mission applications and services.
Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization to ensure reliability and scalability.
Provide advanced technical support for Nutanix-related issues, including incident resolution and root cause analysis.
Apply patches, updates, and security configurations to Nutanix systems in accordance with best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement virtualization solutions that meet customer needs.
Document system configurations, processes, and procedures for operational continuity.
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in hypervisor technologies to recommend improvements.
Achieve Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) certification within six months of hire, if not already certified.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology related field (or equivalent experience). 3 years minimum experience as Senior Systems Engineer supporting a DOD program of similar size and scope ($40M-50M, 35-40 personnel)
5 years minimum of hands-on professional experience as Data Center Engineer working with SDWAN or Hyperconverged Infrastructure for program/project of similar size and scope (25-50 personnel)
5+ years of experience in systems engineering, with at least 3 years focused on virtualization technologies.
Hands-on experience with at least one major hypervisor platform (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or Nutanix AHV).
Strong understanding of virtualization concepts, including compute, storage, and networking in virtualized environments.
Proficiency in system administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning in enterprise IT environments.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Possess IAT/IAM Level II or greater (e.g. Security+ CE, CCNA Security, etc.)
Desired Skills
Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) certification.
Experience with Nutanix AHV hypervisor installation, configuration, and management.
Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and integration with Government cloud platforms.
Knowledge of scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Ansible) for infrastructure management.
