APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA.Perform architecture and technology investigations for hardware systems to ensure systems meet Apple product requirements. Collaborate with cross functional teams to bring a product from concept to mass production. Design simulation, calculation and analytical models for prediction of design concept. Perform trade-off analysis with technical rigor. Design hardware circuits using schematic capturing tools and implement circuit designs on PCB layout. Perform hardware system bring-up across multiple software and firmware environments. Engage in hardware validation and failure analysis using lab equipment. Define test criteria and execute these test plans on product. Provide technical support for production issues, debug and resolutions. International travel required 15%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related field.\nExperience and/or education must include:\n\nPerforming schematic capture and PCB layout using CAD tools to design circuits and interconnects.\nPerforming digital circuit design using system-on-chip (SOC), micro controller, and FPGA.\nUtilizing power design for DC-DC converters, battery, and optimizing power management.\nPerforming analog circuit design using simulation tools.\nUtilizing experience in a lab environment using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers and VNAs,\nUtilizing experience with prototyping, bring-up, debugging and validation.\nDesigning high-volume products from beginning to end and working with contract manufacturers.\nCollaborating with mechanical design and software development teams.\nUtilizing electrical interfaces: PCIe, USB, Display Port, MIPI and I2C/SPI/UART buses.
