Key Skills for Success:
  • Experience with Cisco IOS, Cisco Routers and Switches, Internet Protocol Security (IPsec), Switching Protocols, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)

Principal Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Design, plan, build, and maintain secure communications networks supporting enterprise and hybrid environments.
  • Configure routers, switches, firewalls, and IPSec-based VPN solutions for LAN, WAN, and remote-access connectivity.
  • Coordinate LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements.
  • Ensure network reliability, scalability, and compliance while leveraging automation and emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency and support mission-critical business operations.
  • Provide current network diagrams and other documentation.
  • Display a comprehensive understanding of routing and switching protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VLAN, Spanning Tree, Multicast).
  • In-depth understanding of Cisco IOS platforms and practical knowledge of networking topologies (LAN, WAN) and hands-on experience with IPSec VPNs.
  • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Splunk).
  • Design, implement, and maintain complex LAN/WAN infrastructures, including routing, switching, and secure VPN connectivity.
  • Ensure network integrity, compliance with security policies, and proper backup and recovery processes.
  • Install, configure, manage, and troubleshoot F5 BIG-IP systems to ensure applications are fast, available, and secure.
  • Analyze, diagnose, and resolve complex performance and connectivity issues.
  • Proven experience with Cisco Secure Firewalls (FTD/FMC), ISE, and 802.1x authentication, including device access troubleshooting on network switches.
  • Evaluate and integrate new communications technologies to enhance network performance, security, and scalability.
  • Create network diagrams using Microsoft Visio.
  • Document network design and create Standard Operating Procedures for the installation and configuration of network devices.
  • Maintain current knowledge of evolving network and automation technologies.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and provide mentorship when needed.
  • Linux system administration (RedHat Enterprise) preferred.
  • Configure and administer Cisco routers, switches, secure firewalls, and ISE for identity-based access control and 802.1x authentication.

Required Qualifications:
  • Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with lifestyle polygraph.
  • Education: BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 8+ years of related experience.
  • Certifications: DoD 8570.01, Cisco CCNP (active) required.
  • Additional Certifications: Cisco CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, DevNet, F5 certification.

  • Knowledge of Cisco ISR Gen2 (1900, 2900, 3900 series) and ISR Gen3 (4000 series) routers.

  • Knowledge (including installation) of NSA Cryptographic devices (KG-175, KG-250).
  • Knowledge of configuration of Cisco IOS 15.x, Cisco IOS-XE 16.x, and NX-OS 9.x.

The likely salary range for this position is $136,000 - $184,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
