Our client, a Fortune 5 company, is looking to hire a
"Data Center Technician" in
Hermiston, ORContract Duration - 6 months
Pay Rate Range: $24/h - $26/h on W2 depending on experience
Work schedule: - Schedule flexibility required, including potential night shift positions
- Shift options include Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Saturday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM or 7:30 AM–6:00 PM
- First two weeks: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM (Training)
As a Data Center Technician , you serve as one of many primary resolvers for your support team, skilled at troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware infrastructure issues. You support and share knowledge of these technologies with team members. You possess basic to intermediate system administration skills and work autonomously to resolve server issues. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support. You know how to take direction when given, paying attention to all details involved. You work well with a team. You are receptive to feedback and able to adjust performance and behavior as required for the position.
Job Requirements and Working Conditions: Basic Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic networking knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP (1+ years)
- Familiarity with hardware components inside a server/computer (1+ years)
- Ability to perform hardware replacements and repairs
- Basic Linux/Unix command line knowledge
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
- Receptive to feedback and able to adjust performance and behavior as required
Degree or Certification:- High school or equivalent diploma
- (Optional) CompTIA, CompTIA+
Technical Skills:- Ability to perform hardware replacements and repairs
- Understanding of cooling systems and power distribution
- Basic Linux/Unix command line knowledge
- Experience with ticketing systems and documentation
- Ability to perform basic network troubleshooting
Physical Environment and Safety Protocols:- Must successfully pass through metal detection equipment daily
- Required to work in data center environments with variable temperature conditions
- Temperature fluctuations dependent on seasonal changes and external weather conditions
- Work areas may contain environmental allergens and airborne particles including dust
Physical Requirements:- Must successfully pass through metal detection equipment daily
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Standing/walking for extended periods
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
- Capability to work in various environmental conditions
- Temperature fluctuations dependent on seasonal changes and external weather conditions
- Work areas may contain environmental allergens and airborne particles including dust
- Ability to adapt to varying temperature conditions within the data center environment
- Ability to follow required security protocols including metal detection screening
