PowerBuilder Developer (Appeon Certified)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Appeon PowerBuilder Developer to join our team in Plano, TX. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing, enhancing, and maintaining enterprise applications using Appeon PowerBuilder and related technologies. The candidate must hold a current Appeon PowerBuilder Certification and have a strong understanding of application modernization, database development, and enterprise software development best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Mandatory: Current Appeon PowerBuilder Certification
• Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience developing applications using Appeon PowerBuilder
• Strong experience with PowerBuilder versions 2019, 2021, or later
• Experience working with Appeon PowerServer is preferred
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts
• Experience with application modernization and legacy system enhancements
• Proficiency with SQL and relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or Sybase ASE
• Experience with stored procedures, triggers, and database optimization
• Familiarity with source control systems such as Git, Azure DevOps, or SVN
• Experience with REST APIs and web service integration
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Appeon PowerBuilder.
• Enhance and modernize existing PowerBuilder applications.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
• Integrate applications with RESTful APIs and third-party systems.
• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Troubleshoot application issues and provide timely resolution.
• Support production deployments and application maintenance activities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Appeon PowerServer deployment
• Experience migrating legacy PowerBuilder applications to newer versions
• Knowledge of C#, .NET, or Java is a plus
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Experience working in financial services, healthcare, insurance, or other enterprise environments

Certification Requirement
