Senior Cybersecurity Specialist: Defend Our Most Secure Enclaves!
Are you a senior cybersecurity expert ready to protect the Department of War's most restricted and sensitive networks? The Cybersecurity Operations Branch is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Specialist & Subject Matter Expert (SME) to oversee risk management and defense across our most secure environments.
In this critical, senior-level role, you will apply your deep technical knowledge to secure Special Access Program (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) enclaves. You will be the technical authority ensuring our networks remain resilient, compliant, and impenetrable to adversarial threats.
What You Will Accomplish:
As a senior technical expert within the Cybersecurity Operations Branch, your daily focus will be on executing flawless security, assessment, and risk management protocols. You will:
- Defend SAP & SCI Enclaves: Lead the cybersecurity, network defense, and risk management operations that secure our most restricted SAP and SCI enclaves, as well as unclassified and Collateral SAP support systems.
- Master the Risk Management Framework (RMF): Command all phases of the RMF lifecycle, performing comprehensive security assessments, risk analysis, and system authorizations to guarantee absolute compliance and network integrity.
- Drive Cyber Resiliency & Technology: Evaluate and integrate cutting-edge cyber technologies designed to enhance system resiliency, ensuring our networks can withstand and rapidly recover from sophisticated cyberattacks.
- Manage Critical Vulnerability Assessments: Lead detailed vulnerability assessments and security controls testing, proactively identifying, escalating, and mitigating weaknesses before they can be exploited.
- Provide Expert Cyber Support: Serve as the strategic technical authority for the branch, providing high-level cyber support, risk assessments, and security consulting to project teams, managers, and senior stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain and maintain a security clearance commensurate with the position sensitivity code and must be able to obtain and maintain access to Special Access Program information and Sensitive Compartmented

- Cyberspace qualification is a condition of employment. This position includes cyberspace work as a paramount duty
- This is a designated Drug Testing Position
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft
- May require work to be performed during hours outside the normal duty schedule
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Cyberspace qualification in accordance with DoDM 8140.03
Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of risk management processes (e.g., methods for assessing and mitigating risk)
2. Knowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities
3. Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles used to manage risks related to the use, processing, storage, and transmission of information or data
4. Knowledge of incident response and handling methodologies
5. Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements
6. Knowledge of system life cycle management principles, including software security and usability
7. Skill in creating policies that reflect system security objectives
8. Skill in assessing security controls based on Cybersecurity principles and tenets. (e.g., CIS CSC, NIST SP 800-53, Cybersecurity Framework, etc.)
9. Ability to integrate information security requirements into the acquisition process; using applicable baseline security controls as one of the sources for security requirements; ensuring a robust software quality control process; and establishing multiple sources (e.g., delivery routes, for critical system elements)
10. Ability to identify critical infrastructure systems with information communication technology that were designed without system security considerations
