Location: Chandler, Arizona (Hybrid)Employment Type: ContractDuration: 12 MonthsRole Overview
This position is responsible for ensuring the internal cloud platform meets defined availability, performance, and resiliency objectives. The role involves applying site reliability engineering practices to improve platform reliability, reduce operational risk, and enable safe scaling. The engineer will own reliability metrics, observability standards, and toil-reduction initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement monitoring and alerting systems.
- Automate remediation workflows to reduce manual intervention.
- Participate in incident response and conduct post-incident reviews.
- Drive continuous improvements to platform reliability.
- Ensure production platforms meet high availability requirements.
- Own reliability metrics and observability standards.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 4-5 years of experience applying SRE, DevOps, or reliability engineering principles.
Technical Skills:- Strong technical skills in Linux, automation, and scripting.
- Experience with incident response.
- Experience designing or operating monitoring, logging, and alerting systems, including Elastic (ELK: Elastic, Logstash, Kibana).
- Proven ability to support production platforms under high availability requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- SRE or DevOps certification.
- 5-7+ years supporting cloud, virtualization, or PaaS platforms.
- Experience with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and automated remediation.
- Demonstrated success reducing toil and improving platform reliability over time.
