AV Technician

We are seeking a skilled Audio Visual (AV) Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and operation of audio visual systems in secure government environments. The ideal candidate will have experience with AV hardware, conferencing technologies, and troubleshooting integrated systems. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance and work within federal security and compliance guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain audio visual systems including displays, projectors, microphones, speakers, cameras, and control systems.

• Provide technical support for conference rooms, meeting spaces, and collaboration environments.

• Operate and support video conferencing platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Cisco Webex.

• Troubleshoot AV system issues including connectivity, signal flow, audio quality, and display problems.

• Perform preventive maintenance and system testing to ensure optimal performance of AV equipment.

• Support live events, presentations, and executive meetings, ensuring all AV systems are functioning properly.

• Work with network and IT teams to integrate AV systems with enterprise infrastructure.

• Maintain documentation for system configurations, wiring diagrams, and equipment inventories.

• Follow all security policies and procedures required for Public Trust environments.

• Provide end-user training and guidance on AV system usage.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Public Trust Clearance

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate''s degree in AV Technology, IT, or related field preferred)

• 2+ years of experience supporting AV systems or multimedia technologies

• Experience with AV control systems such as:

  • Crestron

  • Extron

  • AMX

• Knowledge of:

  • Digital signal processing (DSP)

  • HDMI, SDI, and IP-based AV systems

  • AV-over-IP technologies

• Experience supporting video conferencing and collaboration platforms

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

• AV industry certifications such as:

  • CTS (Certified Technology Specialist)

  • Crestron or Extron certifications

• Experience supporting federal government or secure facilities

• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, PoE)

• Experience with conference room automation and smart room systems

Work Environment

• Work performed in government facilities, conference centers, and office environments

• May require occasional lifting of AV equipment (up to 50 lbs)
