Job Summary:

They work effectively with stakeholders at all levels, ensure user needs are clearly understood, and help drive meaningful enhancements that strengthen EHR stability and usability.

The EHR Stability Analyst plays a vital role in ensuring the successful deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement of the Virginia Department of Health’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. This role supports Local Health District end users, evaluates workflow needs, documents enhancement opportunities, and partners with technical teams, business stakeholders, and vendor organizations to ensure the EHR aligns with operational and clinical requirements. The analyst will also contribute to interim solution development and help define strategies for long-term system improvements.

Responsibilities:

- Provide responsive support to EHR users across Local Health Districts.

- Triage, troubleshoot, and escalate issues appropriately.

- Monitor and maintain key EHR workflows, processes, and procedures.

- Engage with stakeholders to understand operational needs, evaluate current EHR capabilities, identify gaps, and recommend effective alternative solutions.

- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for system enhancements.

- Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and other Agile documentation as needed.

- Support functional, integration, and user acceptance testing.

- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical, clinical, and business teams.

- Produce clear user documentation, job aids, and training materials.

Required Skills & Experience:

- Experience providing application support, preferably in healthcare environments.

- Strong skills in requirements documentation and enhancement analysis.

- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

- Understanding of clinical, pharmaceutical, and patient billing workflows.

- Experience participating in structured testing cycles.

- Proficiency with MS Office, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Visio.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience supporting or implementing EHR systems.

- Knowledge of Oracle Health / Cerner platforms and public health workflows.

- Experience with SQL, Oracle databases, or web application environments.

- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and documentation practices.
