Seaport Area of Boston, 5 days a week onsite for the first few months, flexible for 3-4 days onsite after that.

Our client seeks a senior IT Infrastructure Engineer/Administrator to support secure, reliable Microsoft-centric infrastructure across on-premises and Azure environments. The role will support escalations, advance automation and modernization, and ensure strong security controls and documentation in a collaborative setting. all with a white-glove attitude.

This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Rate: $75.00 to $85.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:

  • Drive innovation and lead adoption of new technologies to improve site reliability, user experience, and technology management.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices, including patching, role-based access control, vulnerability assessments, and regulatory adherence.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide Tier 1-3 support across cloud and on-prem environments, perform root cause analysis, and escalate when necessary. Some off-hours support required.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to evaluate, test, and implement new infrastructure technologies and services.
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement in technology operations.
  • Create and maintain infrastructure documentation including system configurations, network diagrams, runbooks, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Contribute hands-on across multiple initiatives as part of a small and growing firm.
  • Work onsite in the Boston office 5 days onsite for the first few months then flexible to 3 to 4 days per week.

Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years as an IT Administrator, Infrastructure Engineer, Cybersecurity Engineer, or similar role. Financial services and asset management experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong background in infrastructure operations and cybersecurity.
  • Experience managing enterprise VPN and remote access technologies for secure connectivity.
  • Experience with cybersecurity and endpoint protection tools.
  • Ability to design, implement, and maintain Microsoft-based infrastructure solutions.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 including Exchange, Entra ID, and Intune.
  • Experience with system and performance monitoring for on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Experience automating routine infrastructure tasks using PowerShell and other scripting tools.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft 365 Administrator or Microsoft Azure certifications are a plus (preferred).
