Position : Kong Architect
Location : Fort Mill SC
Job Summary:
The ideal candidates will have experience designing, developing, and managing Kong Gateway solutions, integrating messaging systems, and implementing APIs on cloud platforms. This role requires hands-on experience with Kong Gateway, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS cloud technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Kong Gateway solutions.
- Configure and manage Kong entities: services, routes, plugins, caching, and API management.
- Develop and maintain API documentation using Kong Developer Portal.
- Create, customize, and maintain Kong plugins to extend platform capabilities.
- Design solutions for Kong API platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Integrate messaging systems such as Kafka or WebSphere MQ Series with Kong.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
- Utilize AWS cloud services to deploy, manage, and scale Kong solutions.
- Stay current on Kong features and best practices to drive platform improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with Kong Gateway and API management.
- Experience in designing and implementing Kong entities (services, routes, plugins, caching).
- Strong knowledge of messaging systems: Kafka, WebSphere MQ, or similar.
- Experience in API documentation and developer portal usage.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing custom Kong plugins.
- Prior experience in large-scale API platform deployments.
- Familiarity with enterprise messaging and cloud integration patterns.
