Join the Team: Data Engineering Intern This internship at PrizePicks offers students the opportunity to work with the Data Engineering team to productionize data pipelines and create data products. Ideal candidates have a strong technical background in computer science, computer engineering, or related fields, proficiency in Python and SQL, and a passion for sports data and analytics. Standout applicants will have experience with database, data warehouse/data lake, cloud infrastructure and continuous deployment (Google Cloud Platform), and strong interest in open-source projects.
What you'll do:- Learn from the PrizePicks Data Engineering team on how we approach data, scalability, performance, and Analytics challenges.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of optimal sport data architecture, ensuring data reliability in both speed and quality for data pipelines.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams and stakeholders to determine best paths for data ingestion, processing and creation of data products.
What you have:
- Strong computer science/engineering background. Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Informatics, Information Systems or other quantitative field
- Strong coding skills - Python, SQL.
- Demonstrable history of building robust data-intensive applications
- Interest in sports and fantasy sports markets.
What makes you stand out:- Experience with Cloud Providers Google Cloud Platform/AWS/Azure.
- Demonstrable background/coursework building data pipelines and data-focused applications from scratch.
- Success in open-source projects
- Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and collaboration experience with organizational technical and non-technical teams
