The Long Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW) Program is looking for an Associate Mechanical Engineering Manager for their mechanical engineering team. LRHW is platform launched weapon system that will include phases progressing through design, flight test, initial production, and deployment of the weapon system. Join the Lockheed Martin team and be a part of the company that has developed and flown more hypersonic vehicles than any other U.S. Company and has decades of hypersonic development and flight test experience from government contracts as well as internal investments in research and development projects.

The Long Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW) team is looking for an exceptional an Associate Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead the mechanical engineering Team. This position reports to the Mechanical Engineering Manager and will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Engineering for LM assembly, integration and testing effort for the LRHW Integrated Weapon System.
The Associate Mechanical Engineering Manager will oversee a functional mechanical engineering team. This individual must be comfortable working in a highly dynamic customer environment, be comfortable managing production and design phases, and be able to translate dynamic program needs into an actionable plan aligned with the overall objectives of the program. This role is responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, and work assignments. This position is expected to participate in and support major program reviews and drive program execution across a diverse team. Additionally, they will: verify, maintain, and track capacity planning; track production readiness across the manufacturing line; support production efforts including integration and testing; support supply chain manufacturing; support obsolescence studies; review implementation of design changes into the production lines, and support production opportunity and risk activities. This role will also have a highly visible role in the manufacturing process as we grow our production assets and scale up output. This position will be filled in Huntsville, AL. Remote work is not possible. This position may require some travel.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering related field
Engineering leadership experience
Experience building, managing, and motivating teams
Successful establishment and maintenance of strong working relationships with customers, subcontractors, and subordinates
Ability to establish priorities, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and bring matters/issues to successful closure, all in the midst of changing priorities
Ability to lead and manage a team with proven Full Spectrum Leadership capabilities
Experience in a production environment
ship with Secret security clearance

Desired skills

demonstrated leadership experience minimally as acting manager, technical lead, or project manager
Experience leading problem investigations and development efforts which require integration of LM and sub-contractor organizations efforts as well as integration with government agencies
Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
Risk and opportunity experience with an understanding of continuous improvement concepts
Demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships with a wide range of personalities and capabilities
Experience on a missile program or other large scale weapon system.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $120,100 - $208,150. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
