TITLE: Senior Energy Engineer

LOCATION: Middleburg Heights, OH (open to candidates within a 2-3 hour radius of Cleveland, OH, including Toledo, Dayton, Detroit, Pittsburgh, and surrounding areas)

TRAVEL: Up to 30% for worksite visits; remote candidates must work on-site at BG Headquarters in Middleburg Heights, OH, at least once per week.

ABOUT BREWER-GARRETT

We are seeking a Senior Energy Engineer to lead energy conservation and efficiency projects that make a measurable impact. This role combines technical depth with project leadership - ideal for someone passionate about designing smarter, more sustainable systems across HVAC, building automation, lighting, and renewable technologies.

As part of a collaborative, solutions-driven team, you'll partner with experts across disciplines to deliver innovative energy projects for commercial, institutional, and government clients nationwide.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the development, design, and implementation of energy conservation projects for large and complex facilities.
Conduct energy audits, analyze utility data, and develop defensible energy and cost savings calculations.
Collaborate with internal teams (sales, engineering, estimating, and project management) throughout design and delivery.
Present technical findings and project recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
Stay current with emerging energy technologies, regulations, and best practices.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to Energy Engineers and project team members.
Support project execution from concept through completion, ensuring quality and accuracy in all deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in energy engineering, with expertise in HVAC systems, building automation, renewable energy, or central plant design.
  • Experience across multiple sectors (healthcare, education, government, or industrial) strongly preferred.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and/or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Prior leadership, supervisory, or mentorship experience a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; ability to travel up to 50%.
