ServiceNow Platform Engineer

Locations: Easton, OH

Work Model: Hybrid (4 Days Onsite, 1 Day Remote)
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (3+ Months)


About the Role

We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Platform Engineer to join our team and play a key role in maintaining, enhancing, and optimizing our ServiceNow platform. This position requires a strong technical background, deep ServiceNow expertise, and the ability to collaborate with business and technology teams to deliver scalable solutions.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting enterprise ServiceNow environments, implementing platform best practices, resolving complex technical issues, and driving platform stability and performance improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across ServiceNow applications and modules.
  • Analyze business requirements and develop scalable solutions within the ServiceNow platform.
  • Identify platform inefficiencies and recommend process improvements and technical enhancements.
  • Perform routine platform maintenance, including performance monitoring, issue detection, and remediation.
  • Ensure platform stability, reliability, and alignment with ServiceNow best practices.
  • Manage platform security, including user and group access, roles, permissions, and Access Control Lists (ACLs).
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and business partners to support platform adoption and optimization.
  • Develop and maintain platform-wide reporting strategies and dashboards.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and knowledge sharing to team members and business users.
  • Assist in managing technical debt and implementing long-term platform improvements.
  • Stay current with ServiceNow innovations, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Support project initiatives and serve as a technical lead when required.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in application development, IT Service Management (ITSM), and ServiceNow platform administration/development.
  • Strong understanding of ServiceNow architecture, platform administration, and configuration.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-level ServiceNow environments.
  • Strong object-oriented programming (OOP) knowledge and experience.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.


Preferred Qualifications

Experience configuring and customizing ServiceNow solutions, including:
  • IT Service Management (ITSM)
  • Customer Service Management (CSM)
  • HR Service Delivery (HRSD)
  • Security Operations (SecOps)
  • Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) / Integrated Risk Management (IRM)
  • Software Asset Management (SAM)
  • IT Business Management (ITBM)
  • IT Operations Management (ITOM)
  • Intelligent Apps


Additional preferred skills include:
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow User Experience (UX) tools, Service Intelligence, and Service Experiences.
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with external applications using REST APIs and web services.
  • Strong knowledge of JSON and API-based integrations.
  • ServiceNow certifications are highly desired.
