About the Role
The Applications Developer II is responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining software applications that support various business functions. This role requires a strong understanding of software development principles and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. They will have a proven track record of developing robust and scalable software, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently on complex projects. In addition to technical skills, the Applications Developer II must possess excellent problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills to interact with stakeholders and team members. This position offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects, stay updated with the latest industry trends, and contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes.

In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain software applications to support business functions, ensuring they meet organizational needs. You will write clean, scalable, and efficient code while collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. Conducting unit testing and debugging will be essential to ensure software quality and reliability. Additionally, you will participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with team members. You will utilize version control systems like Git to manage the codebase and track changes effectively. Documenting software designs, code, and processes for future reference and maintenance will be a key part of your responsibilities. Staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies will ensure the software remains current and competitive. Furthermore, you will independently design and implement software solutions and perform debugging and testing to maintain high standards of functionality and performance.

We're looking for team members who align with our values, mission and goals - while also meeting the minimum qualifications below. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).
  • Typically, 2+ years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in at least two programming languages and familiarity with development frameworks.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.
  • Experience with designing and implementing software solutions independently.
  • Experience debugging and testing.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with SQL Server or other relational database management systems (RDBMS).
  • MS Access database development and VBA programming experience.
  • Web application development experience.
  • Power BI report development and data visualization methods.
  • Experience with database ETL processes and data integration
  • Familiarity with engineering programming languages (Python, MATLAB, VBA).
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of database management systems and SQL.
  • Familiarity with development frameworks such as Spring, Django, .NET, React, or Angular.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and best practices.

Compensation:

Pay Range:
$89,016.00 - $122,418.00

Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
