Overview

Russell Tobin is seeking a highly experienced Customer Solutions Engineer / Technical Solutions Architect to support a leading global technology company. This role is ideal for a senior, client-facing engineer who combines deep technical expertise with strategic thinking and consultative skills.

You will act as a trusted technical advisor to strategic clients, leading complex API migrations, influencing product direction, and driving measurable business impact.

 

Key Responsibilities

Client Solutions & Technical Leadership

  • Partner with Business Development teams to deliver high-touch technical support for strategic clients.
  • Lead migrations from legacy APIs (e.g., Content API) to modern platforms (e.g., Merchant API).
  • Design scalable, reusable solutions to complex customer challenges.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across client and internal teams.

Execution & Delivery

  • Own end-to-end solution design, implementation, and integration.
  • Conduct implementation reviews and ensure adherence to engineering best practices.
  • Identify risks, flag migration issues, and proactively resolve technical challenges.
  • Build tools, scripts, or frameworks to improve efficiency and scalability.

Strategic Impact

  • Drive large-scale migration projects with clear timelines, milestones, and outcomes.
  • Translate technical challenges into actionable insights for engineering and leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve client performance, revenue, and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to business and account planning with a strong technical perspective.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product Managers, Partner Operations, and Sales teams.
  • Influence product direction by advocating for features based on client needs.
  • Mentor peers and contribute to knowledge sharing and solution reuse.

 

Top Daily Responsibilities

  • Perform implementation reviews and guide partners on best practices.
  • Communicate pre-migration assessments and identify errors or risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to upgrade integrations and improve processes.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 4–5+ years of experience in a technical, client-facing or partner-facing role.
  • Strong programming skills in one or more languages (Python, Java, Go, C, or C++).
  • Deep expertise in RESTful APIs (integration, debugging, troubleshooting).
  • Strong SQL skills, including solid understanding of joins, aggregations, and data analysis.
  • Proven experience managing complex technical projects or migrations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate autonomously and proactively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large-scale API ecosystems (e.g., Shopping APIs, Ads APIs, eCommerce platforms).
  • Familiarity with tools like Postman for API testing.
  • Experience building internal tools, scripts, or automation (e.g., App Scripts).
  • Strong understanding of system design and software development lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive business impact (e.g., revenue growth, performance improvements).

  • Operates like a consultant—able to define problems, design solutions, and influence outcomes.
  • Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and challenging clients when needed.
  • Balances technical depth with business acumen and communication skills.
  • Proactive, not reactive—identifies issues before they become problems.
  • Writes reliable, production-quality code and does not rely solely on AI-generated solutions.
