Lead Engineer (Systems/Linux/Network)

Schedule: M-F, 8-5 (some on-call)
Job Purpose
The function of the Lead Engineer (LE) is to provide accountability for the strategic planning, execution, upkeep and ongoing support of pivotal systems and personnel integral to our organization’s operations. The LE oversees all facets of technology from the wall jack to the handoff to the ISP both Internally and for clients.
The LE will directly report to the CEO/CIO and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including the service desk, to ensure seamless operations and alignment with organizational objectives.
Job Duties / Responsibilities:
· Meet goals as established by the CIO/CEO.
· Responsible for the architectural design, development, and deployment of client’s systems.
· Designs system solutions based on user/client needs, cost and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms.
· Complete projects and on-time and on-budget, use proper record-keeping techniques through ticketing system to log cause of project skew (scope-creep, client, knowledge base, etc.)
· Establishes, implements, and documents the technology integration or migration strategies.
· Supervises Engineering and Help Desk teams within the organization
· Attend required company and departmental meetings.
· Maintain all necessary reports as required by the CIO. (Asset, vulnerability, KPIs, etc.)
· Provide technical support for clients and staff as needed through escalation.
· Assist Sales with project bids, providing realistic data to ensure successful bidding.
· Maintain a quality of service that meets or exceeds company standards.
· Maintain client systems to company standards. Reporting EOL machines to Sales in a timely manner.
· Provide suggestions to CIO/CEO on improvements to operating procedures and policies.
· Maintain departmental procedures and policies in accordance with client''s quality, moral and excellence standards.
· Train and educate clients’ staff as needed.
· Work autonomously and within a group.
· Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
1. High School Diploma
2. At least 2 years in-field experience.
3. Knowledge and advanced experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems and common roles and features.
4. At least 5 years, Advanced Windows Server setup & management experience, Networking.
5. Preferred 5 years in-field experience working as part of a team or management to resolve infrastructure needs (networking, server, waps, etc).
6. 3 years Linux server administration. Shell/Bash, and basic setup/security preferred, but not required. Willingness to learn necessary Linux skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The LE has supervision over the engineering and help desk teams, will be responsible for maintaining team relationships, key performance indicators, project deadlines, forecasting of team employment needs and relaying this information to executive management. The LE is also responsible for assigning projects and escalations to the Project/Engineering teams to ensure client satisfaction.
