Job Details:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Automotive Controller to join our team. This role will be an integral part of our finance team, responsible for all financial aspects of our automotive business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive dealership finance, with a solid understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, and tax. Strong leadership and strategic planning skills are essential, as well as a keen eye for detail and process improvement. This is a permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to drive financial performance and contribute to the overall success of our business.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all financial operations of the automotive business, including accounts payable, payroll, budgeting, tax, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, credit control, and petty cash.
  • Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and information reports.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and coordinate budgeting and business planning processes, including the development of financial forecasts and analyses.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal regulatory and company policies and procedures.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory action.
  • Drive process improvements to optimize financial operations and efficiencies.
  • Manage the calculation and distribution of sales commissions.
  • Perform floor plan reconciliation and dealership controller duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the automotive industry.
  • Dealership controller experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, payroll, accounts payable, and strategic planning.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Superior analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with floor plan reconciliation is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of managerial finance and business planning.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and implement internal controls.
